My vision is more acute these days
I notice the homeless person and sometimes chat
Their journey to their current condition is clearer
Judgment isn’t a useful tool
But today an extra blanket was.
His face seemed surprised when I spoke
His smile and gratitude for the blanket was genuine
Even writing this he still lingers in my head
So glad my vision was clear today
