I watched that couple from my quiet isolated booth
They were engaged in each other……..
Their eyes met, their hands touched and their laughter was very real
When one spoke the other listened like they were sincerely interested
The wine came, then the food arrived…….
But they still remained present with each other
Their voices were antimated and their conversation flowed longer and longer
I could not help but notice they were unobservant of everything but each other
The smile I shared with them when I left the room made me happy for them
They understood that life is happening and were happy participants
